Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is reportedly working hard to bring former Cardiff favourite and last season’s top scorer Michael Chopra back to Ninian Park on loan.

Chopra moved to Sunderland during pre-season for £5m but despite a good start has fallen was down the peking order.

Chances have been few and far between for Chops and he has struggled for goals. Anthony Stokes, Roy O’Donovan, Kenwyne Jones, Prica and Murphy are all striking options for Roy Keane.

Cardiff City have struggled for options up front and have desperately missed a natural goalscorer. Chopra provided that spark last season and although would see this as a step back, may welcome the chance of first team action and opportunity to restore confidence.

its obviously a load of rubbish, because dave jones said we cannot afford to bring in anyone on loan, he said that when they told us earnie was coming back, dj said sorry but we cannot afford it

It could happen, for chopra there’s a possible semi-final place, for sunderland is the experience and for cardiff its what we;ve been missing. Sunderland may not even want a fee but even if they do, there’s a 40% chance. It’s known for 100% that Dave Jones has asked roy keane

i thought chopra played in sunderlands 3-0 defeat to wigan, which would make chops cup tied. theres a 50% chance he will say he wants to earn his 1st team spot. may i ask where you found out that DJ has asked Rk for chops please
