Cardiff City will host Queens Park Rangers at Ninian Park tonight with the R`s new-look squad and back-room staff trying to adjust to life in the Championship.

Backed by Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore, the R`s have brought in Luigi De Canio as manager, an established boss but making his first management attempt outside his native Italy.

The Hoops have changed dramatically since we beat them 2-0 early season, and have climbed the table as a result. They have won 3 from their last 4 league games and have some impressive names in their line-up.

Former Cardiff City target Rowan Vine has linked up effectively with Patrick Agyemang in attack with the highly rated Dexter Blackstock also a threat. Former Plymouth midfielder Akos Buzsaky is a potent threat and leads the club`s scoring charts with 6 league goals so far.

Former Cardiff man Gareth Ainsworth adds experience to the squad but is highly unlikely to feature in the R`s squad.

Cardiff City are in superb form at present, and pushed league leaders West Brom all the way in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Hawthorns in the previous league game. City are unbeaten in 6 league games, having won 4 of those to jump to ninth place in the table, just outside the coveted play-off positions.

The Bluebirds have found their rhythm and are currently playing a fast tempo, passing game which utilises the pace of Parry and creative flair of Whittingham, McPhail and Ledley. Nine goals in five games shows a good scoring ratio of late but the defence can be prone to leaking goals when under severe pressure as Watford and West Brom both stole late points with injury time goals.

This is a difficult result to call with QPR looking good, but still needing to solidify as a team. They can be inconsistent while any team able to close Cardiff down effectively always has a chance. The visitors also have a 10 day rest instead of Cardiff`s 1 ! However with Cardiff in good form at present, and home advantage – Vital Cardiff predicts a 2-1 victory for the Bluebirds with goals from Hasselbaink and Thompson.
