Turnbull 6

Very little to do, some accurate kicking but hesitated a couple of times when he should have collected.

Gunter 5

Defensively sound for much of game, out of position for goal but noticably nervous in attack. Lost possession several times and looked out of sorts.

Capaldi 6

A quiet game, yet tidy. Capaldi had relatively little to to, tried to get forward but with little success.

Loovens 7 M.O.M.

A big game for the Dutchman, got head, foot or something on everything and kept Adebola quiet. So strong and read the game really well.

Johnson 7

A good game for Johnson, covering well and making timely interceptions. McKenzie rarely got away and helped keep Adebola quiet.

Ledley 5

A quiet game from the Welshman, he failed to get into the match and got little possession. Full of running, but made little impression this time.

Sinclair 7

Outstanding first half, winning everything in the air, full of clever touches and direct running. Little possession after the break but still looked dangerous.

McPhail 6

Really got stuck in, which is good to see – however failed to get anything going after half time. Needs to get forward more, but a tireless performance from the skipper.

Rae 5

Went AWOL for long periods as the game passed him by. Overshadowed in the middle and did little to impress himself on the game. A disappointing performance.

MacLean 6

Looked sharp until the finish, he could have had a hat-trick but encouraging positions and openings and remained a handful.

Parry 6

Tried hard, but is not going to win ball in the air and found it hard to disrupt a powerful defense. Some neat touches but is not a natural striker and will be less effective at home in that role.

SUBSTITUTES:

Whittingham: Little chance to shine, but made a couple of chances before letting himself down with the final ball in.

Feeney: Eventful few minutes, missed a sitter and won a penalty. Lots of determination but many doubts remain.

Purse: Hit post, his own crossbar and then bar again from the penalty. It was a moment for the captain to step up, but he got is slightly wrong and will be gutted.
