Cardiff v Wolves away at home

Cardiff City fans will have the oppurtunity to watch the forthcoming Wolverhampton Wanderers match despite being banned from the stadium.

Cardiff City fans are banned from Molineux when the two teams meet following an incident at the fixture last season. No charges were brought against Cardiff City football club and despite the excellent track record of fans in recent years and the fantastic work of Cardiff City supporter’s groups, Wolves Chief Exec. Jez Moxey and the West Midlands Police took the decision to bar all City fans from the game.

Cardiff Chairman Peter Ridsdale spoke of his disappointment regarding the decision and will forgo all usual match hospitality at the game. He will sit in the dug-out with Dave Jones rather than the comfort of the boardroom and director’s box in a dignified opposition to Wolves’ stance.

Whilst no-oine would wish to see any trouble between either set of supporters or the police, the decision is thought unjust by many fans and neutrals alike. Some fans will participate in a protest in the town centre on the matchday backed by the National Football Supporters Federation.


The game will be beamed back live for City fans to catch all the action at Ninian Park, with the atmosphere likely to be better than at Molineux. Cardiff City won the corresponding fixture at NP 4-1 earlier this season and would dearly love a repeat.
