Cardiff City host the Owls of Sheffield Wednesday needeing a win to keep them in the running for a sought-after play-off spot.

Cardiff will be without Riccardo Scimeca, shose torn hamstring muscle will keep him out several weeks, Simon Walton is expected to deputise.

Darren Purse (calf), Michael Chopra (hamstring) and Glenn Loovens (foot) will all face late fitness tests. Warren Feeney could make his first Bluebirds start.


Sheffield Wednesday are currently playing some of their best football of the season and are unbeaten in 7. The pressure is off them after a good season.

The Owls are without ex-Arsenal defender Frankie Simek meaning that Lee Bullen will switch to left back and Steve Watson could fill in at centre-back.

Pacy winger Jermaine Johnson is sidelined with chicken pox and will also miss the game.
