Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley has spoken out to calm the rows between his agent and club and insisted everything is OK and he is just waiting for the club’s decision.

Ledley’s agent David Baldwin suggested in the press (see here) that Ledley would not sign a new contract with City and would eventually leave on a free transfer i.e. for no transfer fee. Those comments understandably upset the club and Terry Burton, Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale have all spoken on the matter.

It seems however, the incident has been blown out of all proportion and Ledley will either sign an improved contract or be sold in January. Negotiations are underway between both parties and they will decide the best course of action for both club and player. Ledley told the SW Echo:

“I think what`s been said by my agent was a little bit misinterpreted, I have another season on my contract after this and nothing has happened to change that fact.’

“There are clubs being linked with me but it`s rumours as far as I can see.”I`m happy to be at Cardiff and playing my football and that`s it.”

“This has all been a bit of a fuss made out of nothing.”

Ledley has worn the captain’s armband for the past three games, in addition to a change of position to a central role. Both Joe and the team have benefitted and we have collected an impressive 7 points against some class opposition. Stoke City, Fulham, Everton and several other clubs are known to be interested in Ledley’s services.
