Cardiff City have injury worries ahead of Saturday’s clash with in-form Sheffield Wednesday at Ninian Park. Top scorer Ross McCormack is out with a hamstring problem meaning the Bluebirds will be desperately hoping that on-loan striker Michael Chopra passes a late fitness test on his damaged shin.

If Chopra is unavailable, Eddie Johnson could come in although switching Paul Parry into attack would also be an option and allow the return of Stephen McPhail to the midfield.

Peter Whittingham is out with an ankle injury but making progress while Tony Capaldi is nearing a comeback but will not feature until the new year.

Sheffield Wednesday have their own concerns ahead of the game with ex-Chelsea midfielder Jimmy Smith currently ill and rated doubtful for the game. Winger Wade Small (facial) and Steve Watson (hip) are also unlikely to feature.

Definately out for the Owls are Jermaine Johnson (knee), Etienne Esajas (toe) and Frankie Simek (hamstring) although Sheff Weds have kept a settled line-up of late and are unbeaten in 5 Championship fixtures.
