Cardiff City face Sheffield United tonight as the race for the play-offs continue. The Blades are by no means out of it, but both sides are suffering untimely injury problems.

The game comes too soon for McNaughton (thigh), Kennedy (rib) and Gerrard (calf). All three expect to be fit in a week, but would all have featured in the quad if not in the starting line-up.

Defender Mark Hudson (ankle) and Joe Ledley (hip) have been given huge boost after their long-term lay-offs and both are targeting April returns. However, that does us no good at the moment and a makeshift defence will again be required with youngster Darcy Blake continuing alongside Gyepes. Dave Jones will also need to decide whether to employ forgotten man Tony Capaldi at left back or utilise Quinn / Matthews out of position.

Miguel Comminges (ankle) and Josh Magennis (leg) will miss the rest of the season. Kelvin Etuhu is returned and looking to put his ankle nightmares behind him, but the forward is severely lacking in match practise.

heffield United have their own problems, with particular issues in their attack. Henri Camara (groin), Jamie Ward, Darius Henderson (both hamstring) and Ched Evans (collarbone) are all set to miss out. Richard Cresswell will play, but a change in formation may be needed for the Blades.

Dominant defender Chris Morgan is available after returning from suspension. Our makeshift backline need to watch him carefully at set-pieces.

Lee Williamson (hamstring), Toni Kallio (calf), Gary Naysmith, Ryan France (both knee) and Derek Geary (ankle) are all out.
