Cardiff City face an anxious wait to see whether on-loan hotshot Michael Chopra will be fit for Saturday’s clash with Preston North End at Ninian Park.
Chopra felt a flare-up of a longstanding Achilles problem during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Swansea City. Chopra was withdrawn after McPhail’s sending off to allow Gavin Rae to move into defense.
The on-loan Sunderland player returned to the Stadium of Light for tests and has now seen a specialist to determine the severity of the problem. Chopra is rated at 50:50 to make the weekends game so Ross McCormack may be called upon to resume his more usual strikers position.
Chopra’s place in the squad would likely be taken by Eddie Johnson, recovered from a foot injury.
