Cardiff City have been dealt a blow with the news that key defender Kevin McNaughton is ruled out of tonight`s game with a troublesome groin injury. The problem is not serious but the Scottish International will be given every chance to rest up rather than further aggravate the injury and risk missing the play-offs.

City travel to Charlton Athletic looking for the points that would secure a play-off position with two games to spare but also hoping to exorcise a few demons following the shock 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Preston North End on Saturday.

Two players will be vying to take the place of the consistent McNaughton at right-back. Miguel Comminges seems the more likely choice having feature regularly on the bench while Welsh youngster Darcy Blake is also in with a chance.
