Cardiff City striker Warren Feeney will definately sit out the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury having recently come back from his long-term ankle problem.

Feeney looked on his way out of Ninian Park after a successful loan spell with League 1 Swansea City. However, a serious ankle injury scuppered a move West for the Irishman and he returned to the Bluebirds.

Feeney battled back to fitness and returned in the 1-0 home win over Hull City. However, he lasted just a few minutes as a second half substitute against West Brom having torn his hamstring.

Feeney has yet to excel at Cardiff City and has struggled for fitness and goals. Nevertheless, his absence puts greater strain on Thompson and Hasselbaink following the departure of Steve MacLean and the long term injury to Robbie Fowler.
