The fantastic FA Cup run that has brought revenue and exposure for Cardiff City has also had the added effect of securing money up-front ahead of the summer transfer window and going a long way to ensuring Ninian Park will be a lot more full than this season for its final year in service.

Ahead of the semi-final, new ambassadors (early season-ticket holders) for the 2008-09 season were guaranteed a ticket – leading to high demand.

That demand only increased for the final, as well as added incentives for those fans already ambasssadors and renewing early for next season.

The previous record of ambassadors was 10000. This was beaten some time ago as the figure now stands around 13000.

The capacity of NP is somewhere around the 20000 mark (including away supporters) and a certain number of tickets must be witheld for ‘walk-up support’ on matchdays. That means only 500 ambassador spots remain, and with them a guaranteed chance of a final ticket.

Thats 13000 ticket holders for next season – whilst our average for this season stands at a disappointing 13914.
