Cardiff City Favourites For Routledge Signing

Cardiff City bosses are hoping a deal to bring on-loan winger Wayne Routledge to Ninian Park permanently is virtually complete. The Aston Villa winger has interested a number of clubs following a successful loan spell in South Wales and Villa manager Martin O’Neill is willing to allow a permanent switch.

The tricky winger has brought pace, flair and balance to the Bluebirds in recent weeks and despite being brought in to cover injuries to Ledley and Whittingham – he has emerged as a dangerous player and crowd favourite. With a fee thought to be just £300k already agreed with Aston Villa – not moving for Routledge would seem extremely foolish.

Queens Park Rangers are also very keen on Routledge and could yet make a move – they have already registered interest with Villa and would be able to offer a far more lucrative salary than the Bluebirds. Nevertheless, Routledge knows he needs regualar first team football and City fans and management are hoping his previous spell here will persuade the dinminutive winger that Cardiff is hit best option.
