Cardiff City Attempt To Steal Evans From Celtic

Cardiff City are working hard behind the scenes in an attempt to lure long-time transfer target Chedwyn Evans from under the noses of Glasgow Celtic – who are reportedly close to a deal for the Welshman.

Evans is highly rated, but looks set to be frozen out at current club Manchester City with their new wealth and fellow young striker Daniel Sturridge emerging for the Citizens.

Evans spent time on loan at Norwich City last season, scoring a memorable goal against Cardiff City at Ninian Park. He was courted by the Bluebirds at the start of the season, but boss Mark Hughes wanted him to remain at Eastlands.

With Evans becoming available, Celtic looked to have struck a deal for the talented frontman but Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale have not given up and City are working hard to come up with a uitable package to lure Evans to South Wales.

A front three of Bothroyd, McCormack and Evans is sure to impress Cardiff City fans and worry Championship defences.
