David Marshall 6
Little to do but suspect coming for crosses once more. One good save from Ward

Darcy Blake 7.5
Blake is an in-form player and looked comfortable throughout. Linked up well in attack and strong defensively. Looks a different player.

Kevin McNaughton 8 M.O.M
Simply superb. Switched effortlessly to the left flank and dazzled in attack – looked fit, confident and full of running

Gabor Gyepes 6
A surprise recall for Gyepes, but his distribution is lacking and he was caught out by Evans for the goal. Needs more games.

Mark Hudson 6.5
Had an easy time second half but was still caught out once or twice. The centre-back pairing is not right yet, especially distribution.

Danny Drinkwater 7
Busy, determined and effective. Drinkwater did well on his debut, and linked up nicely with his new team-mates. However, needs to be more available for his defenders but that should come.

Gavin Rae 6.5
Unhappy to be substituted and a typical gritty and dogged performance. It`s not pretty to watch Rae getting on with his business, but he tidied up effectively.

Peter Whittingham 7
Grew as the game wore on, Whitts moved inside and began to dictate proceedings. He won`t have this much space against 11 men though.

Chris Burke 7
Another who improved as the game wore on, Burke was quiet 1st half but lively in the second – narrowly missing out on several occasions. Had the beating of his man, but could improve on decision making i.e. when to run, or when to cross.

Jay Bothroyd 7
Not fully fit, but he has to play. Little joy in the air but a competent performance despite being injured all summer!

Michael Chopra 7
Frustrated by lack of service and forced too deep but his control for the goal was exemplary. Some nice touches showed he`s confident so goals should come

Ross McCormack 6
Little impact after replacing Rae but he tried very hard and caused one or two problems – desperately short of gametime.
