Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has committed his future to the club and signed a new deal.

The contract is a rolling deal, and, under the terms – Jones must give a full year’s notice if he wished to leave, or Cardiff will be entitled to significant compensation from his new employers. It is the strongest signal to date that Jones is sticking with the Bluebirds.

In addition, Jones will receive a portion of his wages in shares in the club, tying him more firmly to the future of Cardiff City.

Jones told BBC Sport:

‘I’ve been discussing this deal for about seven months so now that it’s done and dusted I’m really pleased.’

‘I’ve started building something there – it’s a club on the up and expectation levels have risen.’
