Cardiff City picked up a point after a hard fought draw against West Brom tonight in a peculiar game at Ninian Park.

City dropped Aaron Ramsey from the squad and recalled Kevin McNaughton while Trevor Sinclair came in for Whittingham.

Steve Thompson missed a great chance for Cardiff when through on the keeper but it was an even first half as Zoltan Gera caused problems for the Cardiff defence.

However, a worrying incicent for the fans ocurred on the stroke of half time as Paul Parry chased a through ball and pulled up clutching his hamstring, the winger/forward lasted just 3 minutes of the second half. That could be a huge blow.

The ineffective Thommo was withdrawn at half time, his Cardiff City career looks to be fading, Warren Feeney came on but only lasted 10 minutes before he was replaced!

That left Cardiff with McPhail, Rae, Scimeca, Ledley, Whittingham and Sinclair – all midfielders.

Cardiff enjoyed the more possession but a draw was probably a fair result. Miller hit the post for WBA before Scimeca’s shot was saved by Kiely. Sinclair had a half chance and Roman Bednar headed straight at Enckelman when well placed as the game headed towards a draw although both sides tried hard to keep the tempo high.

A draw doesn’t really help City’s play-off push much, but with all the problems it was a point gained and any defence has to play well to keep West Brom at bay.

Next up……. WEMBLEY !!!!
