Cardiff City will again be without key frontman Jay Bothroyd for tonight’s away clash with Leicester City, but Bothroyd is hopeful of a full recovery in time for the weekend clash with Ipswich Town.

Andy Keogh took over the ‘target man’ role usually undertaken by Bothroyd, and did a good job during the 2-0 victory over Hull City. He will be hoping for another start, and would be unlucky to be dropped.

There is also good news regarding injuries as CCFC captain Craig Bellamy has seen an improvement in his knee and has travelled with the squad. Bellers experienced swelling after a gruelling 90 minutes for Wales last week. He missed the weekend clash, but following a steroid injection, the inflammation has abated and he will undergo a fitness test prior to tonight’s game.

Olofinjana has also travelled and could feature but the Bluebirds will be without on-loan midfielder Danny Drinkwater who continues to be sidelined with an ankle injury.

Cardiff City have a number of options to change things around and if Bellamy is passed fit, he could replace Koumas on the left, or Keogh as the lone striker. Alternatively, Jones could revert to a 4-4-2 formation with Bellamy joining Keogh up-front leaving a midfield four of: Whittingham-McPhail-Olofinjana-Burke.

Cardiff City fans will (almost) always give 100% backing to our players on the pitch, you can also support a fantastic cause by donating to the Craig Bellamy Foundation.
