Craig Bellamy has said he wasn’t happy with the reaction of the crowd during our troublesome first half against Norwich today.

Speaking to the press following the two one victory, the player when scoring our equaliser caused a bit of controversy by putting his finger to his lips in the direction of the home support and having been asked about his ‘celebration’ following the game, he explained.

‘I haven’t heard the crowd like that. That’s not the club I’m from. I saw them turn first half, and I’ve not been a part of that. I’ve not seen them direct it at individuals, which they did.’

Bellamy goes on to say that ‘maybe that’s’ modern football and maybe he’s trying to get used to that, but ‘it’s not like us’ and it’s obviously something he wouldn’t like to see again.

I’m sure this is going to get blown up into a bit of a media issue, but Cardiff fans are no different to any other side. They pay their money and they voice their displeasure, it happens at every ground in the country so whilst Bellamy is entitled to feel the crowd were harsh, especially in the direction of Peter Whittingham and celebrate in the manner he did, the crowd are also entitled to show their displeasure at an unacceptable performance – and clearly the way around that is for the players to give the fans something to cheer and today ably demonstrated that really.
