Midfielder Tom Adeyemi has become manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s sixth signing of the summer, as he officially joins us from Birmingham City today.

22 year old Tom has passed his medical and put pen to paper on a three year deal at Cardiff, and he has trained with the team for the first time today.

He could be inline for his club debut when we open the season against Blackburn on Friday evening.

Adeyemi began his career at Norwich City in 2008, taking in loan spells with Bradford City, Oldham Athletic and Brentford. At the start of 2013-14 he signed a permanent deal with Birmingham, and went on to make 40 appearances for them.

He also played alongside fellow summer signing Federico Macheda during his spell with them.

Speaking to the Official Site after the formalities were complete, Adeyemi said.

‘From the outside looking in, Cardiff has a very strong squad that will challenge for a quick return to the Premier League this season. It took no persuading from the manager to come here. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to work with somebody like him and to play for a like Cardiff.’

The gaffer himself said of the capture.

‘I’ve been keeping an eye on Tom’s progress for a very long time. A few years ago, my Manchester United reserve side played against Norwich’s first team and Tom was their standout player. He scored a great goal that day and stood out as a fine talent, even at that young age. We’ve been interested all summer and I’m thrilled we’ve got our man ahead of the season kick off.’

Having joined us for an undisclosed fee from the Midlands’ team he has been handed the No 18 shirt.
