Wolves Rid Of Keogh, So Sign Marcus Bent ?!?

Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured the signing of much travelled frontman Marcus Bent, the striker has joined from Birmingham City on loan.

Bent is hardly an inspirational signing for Wolves, and has failed to make an impact since joining Birmingham City. In order to make that move, Bent turned his back on the Bluebirds and a £1m transfer – but has failed miserably at Brum. Incidentally, we then moved to sign Jay Bothroyd for a fraction of that money (from Wolves) – one of the best pieces of business in CCFC history. If Birmingham City had offered Bent plus cash for Bothroyd today – I’d have wanted £5m for sure.

However, it seems that Wolves do want Bent, and were able to get him after allowing Andy Keogh off the wage bill in order to join us last week. This of course suggests that Bent is better than Keogh.

However, that doesn’t tally with the reports from Wolves fans and management, all of whom seem to rate Keogh very highly.

A strange move, but when it comes to strikers, it seems Cardiff City, Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are inextricably linked – I cant help feeling that in Keogh and Bothroyd – we’ve done very well indeed !!

He scored 5 goals in pre-season friendlies. It’s not like he’s crap. Birmingham have quality strikers that is all.

Right you are Bluebirdshroom, as a lifelong Wolves fan I wasnt happy when we sold Jay and Im even more perturbed that we’ve let an extremely talented Andy Keogh go out onloan. Consensus seems to be that Andy may have requested the tx, and with Mick sorting out Bent, allowed it to take place, whatever the reasons it’s certainly looking rosey for your lot. See you in the prem next season !!
