Cardiff City must make more use of their wide players according to manager Dave Jones.

The Bluebirds got their first win for some time against Ipswich on the weekend, a result set-up by the attacking threat of Cardiff widemen Paul Parry and Joe Ledley.

Dave Jones told the SW Echo:

“Parry and Ledley raided down the wings brilliantly against Ipswich and we want the same again.’

“Perhaps the quality in might have been better, but then Paul scored a fantastic goal which proved the winner.’

Parry was a real threat all game, thanks in no small part to the energy and willing of Chris Gunter, recalled at right-back. The youngster got forward at every opportunity and created space and possession for Parry to use.

The Welsh winger also got the winner with a stunning left foot strike after cutting in from the right during a free-flowing counter acctack from City.

We have found the attack isolated for much of the seasons, and Cardiff’s two Welsh Wingers are hugely important to breaking down teams, especially with the strength and presence of Steve Thompson and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in the box.
