Cardiff City’s man of the match for the recent cup win over Middlesbrough was unsuprisingly shown to be Peter Whittingham.
Three frontrunners emerged after the impressive 2-0 win away at Middlesbrough which saw Cardiff through into the semi-finals. Glenn Loovens and Roger Johnson laid a solid platform, the latter scoring a headed goal while Peter Whittingham also scored and looked lively throughout.

Whittingham scored a fantastic goal after twisting past 4 Boro defenders and curling a superb right foot effort into the top corner. The former Aston Villa winger then produced a dangerous cross for Roger Johnson to head into the far corner.
Whittingham has enjoyed a mixed season, producing some scintillating touches as well as some disappointing ones. He has struggled with consistency but has shown superb technical ability and scored some impressive goals.
