Rhys Weston has been called up by Wales manager John Toshack for their friendly in Cyprus this week.
The Bluebirds full-back has been drafted in to replace David Partridge, who suffered a dead leg in Bristol City’s 2-1 defeat at Swindon yesterday.
Weston said: “My priority has been Cardiff and I’d put international football to the back of my mind after being out of the picture for a long time.
“I’m happy with the way I’ve been playing after a difficult start to the season – I know there are still improvements to make but I’m comfortable.
“The Cyprus game is the start of our build-up to the European Championship qualifiers and the onus is on me to do enough to impress John Toshack.”
