As everyone will already know, Cardiff are the only team to take the FA Cup out of England, beating Arsenal 1-0 in the 1927 Cup Final. If the Bluebirds were to emulate that result, they will close the chapter on FA Cup football at Highbury.

Dave Jones said: ‘It’s fantastic news for the club to be drawn against the Cup holders and it will be a great day out for our supporters, they deserve it. For our players it’ll be an opportunity to pit themselves against some of the greatest players in the world.

‘It’s great for everyone concerned at the club and hopefully it will give everybody a taste of what could possibly come in the future.

‘I wish it was at home but, as I say, it is great for everyone concerned.

‘We will look forward to the game but we still have some important league fixtures before then.’

The tie will be played on the weekend of 7th/8th January, 2006.

‘I’ve got one more year left with Feyenoord, but I like Cardiff very much and I hope my future is here, I prefer the British way to the Dutch way. It’s more my style of playing and I’m really enjoying it. That’s why I made the decision to come here, because it’s more my style. I knew what British football was like because I’ve played against British teams.’
