Fresh from signing his new deal on Saturday morning, Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock was pleased with what he saw in the encounter against Fulham.

With the lead in the game at the Cardiff City Stadium swinging both ways as the visitors took the lead before a Kenneth Zohore brace put us in front, only for them to then equalise, Warnock was pretty content with the positives he could take from the match as he continued to see improvements in most areas of the pitch.

Speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference, Warnock was happy to declare that he felt the side had come a long way since he first joined the club and he felt the Fulham encounter would’ve been good for the neutral viewers.

‘It was very good game for the neutral. We had opportunities to win the game before half time – we could have been four goals up at the break. But they’re a very good side, and took their opportunities. It was a kick in the teeth to go behind, but we came back strong again. Kenneth took the equaliser well, and once we went in front I thought we might score more. Give them credit, they came back, with some very good forwards and both teams can probably feel disappointed.’

Zohore in getting the brace obviously came in for particular praise from the experience manager, and it’s now seven goals for him so far this year and again Warnock has been pleased with his improvement.

‘He’s training hard, and listening to what we’re saying. I thought he did very well in the second half. He’s really enjoying it at the minute, and long may it continue. Not just him, you look around the squad and five or six lads have improved beyond recognition – although we’ve still got work to do in one or two areas. We’ve come a long way really. You can see, we played against one of the better sides, and we’ve got opportunities to pit our wits against a lot of good teams between now and the end of the season. We’ve had four tough games and picked up ten points, which isn’t bad going.’

Having signed his contract ahead of the game following the announcement earlier in the week that it had all been agreed, Warnock was clearly looking forward.

‘We agreed it all before, it didn’t need to be rushed. It’s amazing what you can do if you have ability, with a system and some belief. We want to be successful, and the lads know how hungry I am. I’m enjoying it. I want the lads to enjoy it, I want the fans to enjoy it, and I want them to go home thinking: ‘What a game!’ That’s what the Championship is about, end to end stuff, like against Fulham. There was something happening all the time, a really exciting game.’
