Cardiff’s Championship season continued with a defeat at Elland Road against Leeds on Tuesday.

A second half goal from Mowatt was enough to give Leeds the points in a one-nil win over Cardiff, with this win giving Leeds a first home win since March and of Evans’ spell as boss at Elland Road.

With what’s becoming a familiar theme with Cardiff there wasn’t much goalmouth action in the first half, which didn’t see the Bluebirds threaten with Leeds going closest but Marshall saved to deny Dallas.

The second half was better for Cardiff with Morrison denied an opener by Leeds ‘keeper Silvestri. But it was Leeds took the lead, with what proved to be the winner, when Mowatt (63) fired home a long distance effort to beat Marshall, and end his un-breached run.

Silvestri saved again to keep Leeds ahead when the ‘keeper saved from Mason and Morrison again.

Wood should have assured the Leeds win but the striker failed to hit the target having rounded Marshall to seemingly be on to double the lead for the home side but one goal was enough.
