Cardiff’s Championship season continued with a win at the Cardiff City Stadium against Huddersfield on Saturday.

An unbeaten start to the season continued for Cardiff with a two-nil win, after second half goals from Pilkington and Mason, against Huddersfield putting the Bluebirds up to second place in the table behind early pacesetters Brighton.

There wasn’t much in the first half but both Jones, who made Huddersfield debutant ‘keeper Steer, and Mason had chances that couldn’t be taken before Jones has another great chance when Ralls put him in but his effort didn’t really test Steer.

With Jones taken off, in place of Ameobi, the Newcastle loanee instantly had an impact with him finding Pilkington (69) who finished into the bottom corner to give Cardiff the lead.

A third successive league win, which hasn’t happened for Cardiff too often, was secured when Mason (77) was left with a chance he couldn’t miss as he finished into an empty net after Ameobi has again played his part.

In actual fact, a third successive win is something achieved for the first time since the 2012/13 season when promotion into the Premier League was secured!
