Cardiff’s Championship season got underway with a draw at the Cardiff City Stadium against Fulham on Saturday in an early 12noon kick-off.

An equalising goal, four-minutes from time ensured that Slade’s side gained a point to deny Symons’ Cottagers then chance of returning to London with all three-points after this one-one draw.

The Bluebirds, having fallen behind to a Smith goal following an error by ‘keeper Moore, hit the crossbar and had a goal disallowed before Noone came off the bench to grab a late point.

Fulham threatened a first half breakthrough when Smith forced an effort against the post in the first half with Pilkington’s run ending with the winger seeing his effort deflected against the crossbar as the Bluebirds threatened.

Moore’s mistake minutes into the second half when the ‘keeper, playing in place of the suspended and quite possibly exiting Scottish international Marshall, failed to hold a Pringle cross with Smith heading home.

After Moore had made up for his error, denying Pringle a second for the visitors, with Pilkington having a goal disallowed for offside Noone (86) made an almost instant impact from the bench when he curled a fine effort into the corner to earn the hosts a point.
