Two New Cardiff City Recruits By Weekend ?

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones earlier this week told the SW Echo that two new faces were expected at the club before the weekend.

The club are currently on their pre-season tour in Portugal but have a chronic shortage of strikers after Robbie Fowler left and Marcus Bent rejected a deal.

Jones’ comments, no doubt made to appease disgruntled fans, will look all the more foolish if no transfer news now emerges. Fans were understandably sceptical after a summer of frustration so far, and with no news yet – it looks more likely that the claims were ill-founded.

I’d love to be proved wrong and hear that two quality signings are unveiled this afternoon but it just doesn’t seem likely. Perhaps we have learnt our lesson and are keeping all dealings completely secret but more likely is that Jones and Ridsdale are trying to hide their own embarrasment at our current situation.

just reading now, palace are having talks with steve thomo over a move, as warnock is looking for a strong target man, i can gaurentee if we sell him it will be on the cheap, he will score 10 goals or more at palace, and will then be sold on for a chunk of money

im not being funny, but all these teams in the championship seem to be spending on strikers, but we cant seem to find one, do you think PR told DJ there is no money for transfers, and thats why they keep saying they cant find one, okay we all know about marcus bent, but maybe it was all add-ons now cash up front

It would look very bad to keep stating there IS money to be spent, and then not do it! We’ve had the same sob story about not having mopey for a while – surely they wouldnt need to change it if there still was no cash….?

£12,5000,000 is what we made on transfers last year, chopra, gunter, maclean and ramsey. even with our debts theres got to be cash for 1 striker!!!

  • bluebird04 says:

but out of all that how much do you know is all cash in hand, straight up front, only £5m for rambo, and £500,000 from maclean
