Cardiff City will have Ben Turner available for selection for the trip to face Peterborough today after the powerful central defender utilised the International break to overcame the knee problem that kept him out of the win at Sheffield Wednesday.

With Mark Hudson ruled out for weeks, Turner’s omission was a big blow and loanee Leon Barnett made his CCFC debut alongside the promising but highly inexperienced Ben Nugent. Both did well, but it is far from an ideal combination at this stage of the season!

Turner is almost certain to regain his place, most probably alongside Norwich City man Barnett. It will add more solidity and experience to our defensive unit, however, this will obviously be the first time Turner has linked up with Barnett.

Andrew Taylor and Matthew Connolly will provide continuity at full-back, having made those positions their own. Neither is a natural leader, so having Turner’s presence at the back to organise and inspire should be another positive in what will undoubtedly be a tough test against the Posh.
