Reports, which have been covered by Wales Online, are seeing Cardiff linked with Everton and Swindon defenders. Two of them could come in on loan from Everton and one permanently from Swindon.

Central defenders Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway are making inroads into the Everton first-team, and both made debuts last season, but as much as they’ll be fully fledged first-team squad members next season Roberto Martinez is keen to send them out on loan for regular football.

These two would be loans, half season or season-long, but the likes of Brentford and Bolton could also be interested too!

Loans could see one, or both, of these defenders sign with Wales Online also reporting that we’ve shown an interest in Swindon full back Nathan Byrne with the 22-year-old available for around £500,000 having just seen a new one-year contract activated.

Byrne seems ready to step up to the Championship, and he would have if Swindon hadn’t lost out in the play-off final against Preston, and was named in the League 1 Team of the Year. Will this step up, if it happens, be with Cardiff?
