Cardiff City have announced the free transfer signing of Trevor Sinclair after the former England International completed a medical this morning.

Sinclair was released by Manchester City at the end of last season and will immediately fly to Portugal to join his new team-mates and form part of the Bluebirds’ pre-season tour.

A right winger, Sinclair has lost much of his pace at 34 years old but was still playing Premiership football last season and is an seasoned professional who will add quality and experience to the squad.

Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale was pleased with the signing and told the official site:

‘We are delighted to add Trevor to the squad. He is a former England International and has experience at the top level, which is important to us.’

‘Trevor will add value and depth to the team and will give us more quality.’

The signing of Sinclair brings this close season’s recruits up to 5, all of which have been free transfers.
