Chasetown want to stage their dream FA Cup third round tie at their miniscule Scholar’s Ground despite the logistical and policing problems that will cause.

THe minnows needed two temporary stands, one behind each goalmouth, to stage Tuesday night’s match against League 1 Port Vale – a match that Chasetown nicked 1-0 courtesy of a late strike and two missed penalties by Vale.

Chasetown have earnt their place in the next round, and deserve another chance at glory. They are insisting on playing the tie at their own ground, despite calls for it to be hald at a nearby League ground. The club have confirmed to the F.A. that they want the tie held at their home ground.

Cardiff City are likely to want almost the capacity in ticket allocations, obviously that will not happen and Cardiff will probably only get an allocation of 500 or so meaning that ambassadors will again be in the driving seat for acquiring cup tickets.

Chasetown manager Charlie Blakemore told BBC Sport:

‘I definitely want to play it at home. If we can play it at the Scholars Ground we should because that’s where our home is.’

‘I can remember watching the FA Cup on Match of the Day as a kid and watching these big clubs going to play on these almost parks pitches. That is what it is all about.’
