An opening gambit of £5m from QPR for Jordan Mutch was reportedly rejected last week but an improved offer will see him leave to join the Premier League club in the next 24 hours or so.

BBC Radio Wales reports that an improved offer of around £6m will secure QPR his services.

Mutch will head to Loftus Road for a medical today and it would seem looks set to follow in Steven Caulker’s footsteps and join Harry Redknapp’s side, in a move that will see him return to London after a loan spell with Watford a few years back.

I’d be disappointed to lose Mutch, but players come and go.

Rejecting £5m was a bold move by the club, given he’s in the final year of his contract, and as much as a million pound isn’t really that much in footballing terms these days is seems that this has been too much to turn down and from a ‘business’ point of view I can understand why the 22 year old would be sold.

Perhaps Mutch has made it clear he isn’t that interested in signing a new contract with us? In which case we had to accept the offer didn’t we? Until this is officially announced though it’s not a done deal is it!
