Thommo Reckons Boyd Too Good For Cardiff City!

In an unusual scenario, Steve Thompson has advised his fellow Scotsman Kris Boyd to aim higher than the Bluebirds if he is to move on from Rangers!

Cardiff City had a bid turned down for the prolific Scotsman turned down, but we remain hopeful that a deal could be done and that McNaughton and former Rangers players Thompson and Rae could persuade Boyd to join us.

Thompson made his comments to The Scotsman:

‘If I was Boydy I would be looking more at the Premiership and that’s only if he wants to go.’

‘You just have to take one look at his scoring record to realise it’s quite unbelievable.’

‘I don’t know what Kris will decide to do but there’s no doubt he’s capable of playing at the very highest level.’

Thompson has fallen out previously with Dave Jones and remains on the transfer list with his CCFC future looking distinctly unclear. This could be a swipe at the Bluebirds management, an attempt to give himself another chance in the first team or simply a straight-talking Scotsman giving his true opinion.

Eitehr way, it’s not particularly useful or maybe even professional for Thommo to tell players to aim higher than his current employer….
