Cardiff City misfielder Sol Taiwo will now undergo a necessary knee operation after the end of the season despite previous reports he would not feature again this season.

The postponement of the surgery will give Taiwo a chance to end the season on something of a high after a disasterous start to his Cardiff City career in which he has failed to make any impression and made just a handful of appearances for the first team.

It seems likely that Taiwo will start Sunday’s clash with derby County with Dave Jones set to rest Ledley and McPhail to keep them fit and fresh for the play-offs. Taiwo will most likely link-up with teenager Aaron Wildig but realistically knows he is behind Ledley, McPhail, Rae, Wildig and most likely Darcy Blake in the Bluebirds pecking order.

A £250k signing from Dagenham and Redbridge, Taiwo will be desperate to impress and show he has something to offer Cardiff City in the future.
