Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley is set to be the centre of mush transfer talk during the current transfer window with a host of clubs reportedly showing interest in the player.

The Wales International has been in superb form for Cardiff City recently and looks an excellent prospect for the future. It’s difficult to believe that Ledley is only 20 years old, he has racked up over 150 appearances for the Cardiff City first team.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City showed interest in Ledley during the close season, and Wolves returned with a firm bid recently. That however was turned down, by the player himself and his manager Dave Jones also reckons a move within the Championship, or to relegation battlers in the Premiership would be a backwards step for the Cardiff-born player.

However, Tottenham Hotspur are also showing interest and will have watched Ledley numerous times when scouting Chris Gunter, another Welsh youngster who recently completed a move to White Hart Lane.

Everton are also an established Premiership side showing interest in Ledley with cultured midfielder Mikel Arteta constantly linked with a move back to Spain. David Moyes is thought to be preparing a bid, around £3.5m, to be made for Ledley’s services.

We are hearing the familiar message from the club that ‘every player has his price’, but also that Cardiff City want to keep Ledley if at all possible and the sale of Chris Gunter apparently lifts any obligation to sell in the immediate future.

Only time will tell, but Ledley is a massive player for us as well as being a homegrown talent.
