Following the 1st team strikers Michael Chopra and debutant Jason Byrne scoring to beat Wolves, the Reserve team strikers followed suit to see of Swindon Town.

City fielded a strong team with only new keeper Forde, Michael Corcoran, Matt Smith and new Chelsea loanee James Simmonds without first team action. Add to that the fact that Forde and Simmonds are almost certain to play some part for City this season and it looks a strong outfit.

Luigi Glombard, Andrea Feretti and Jason Byrne all started the game and it was the Frenchman and Italianman who got the goals as City ran out 2-1 winners.

It is the places of Glombard and Feretti which are under threat from the arrival of Byrne and the prospective new striker Cardiff are touting. Both answered the challenge to them with two well taken goals.

Roger Johnson was given a run out to increase his match fitness ready to stand in for Darren Purse who suffered a painful back injury during the win over Wolves last Saturday.
