Manager Russell Slade has said that owner Vincent Tan has already given him the green light on a couple of targets to strengthen the squad this summer.
Having already said that he would probably be flying out to Malaysia and having a meeting with Tan here to discuss summer plans and further work on the squad, the BBC carry quotes from the gaffer saying that a couple of targets have already been green lighted by our own – but he wouldn’t say who they were or whether they were the ‘three’ quality targets he wanted to focus on.
‘Vincent’s already given the green light for a couple of targets. We’ve got two or three little packages lined up for him to review and see if we get some joy from them.’
With speculation mounting about departures, goalkeeper David Marshall and Bruno Ecuele Manga are two he would definitely like to keep, saying.
‘Since I’ve been here there’s been interest in David. I think it’s key to hang on to our top players, our quality players because there’s still a lot of building that’s got to go on between now and the start of the season. I would like to think David would be a part of that.’
As for Bruno, he went on to say that logically we are expecting some interest in the player as that’s highly ‘possible’ but he thought the same in January and nothing surfaced so he is hoping that will continue to be the case.
‘Bruno has grown in stature, is more used to Championship football and will be the better for the season he has had with us. It would be good to think he has a big season ahead of him with Cardiff and that we will see an even better player, having had the experience of this one season.’
