Manager Russell Slade has said that Adam Le Fondre is available for transfer this summer for the right price.
In quotes carried by the BBC, Slade admitted that an ‘honest and frank’ discussion had been had with Le Fondre since his return from a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers and the player admitted he hadn’t properly settled in Wales and would be open to a move this summer.
Slade said of the 28 year old.
‘Nobody’s going to steal him for nothing that’s for sure. Adam feels he didn’t really settle in Cardiff. We’ll see what happens there but if not all our players have received their close season programs. He’s still our player and he’ll be training with us come the 25 June if nothing materialises.’
Having joined us back in May 2014 for an undisclosed fee the move hasn’t really worked out for anybody, as after 25 appearances for the club, he only scored twice – but showed better form whilst out with Bolton at the end of this season, scoring eight in 16 games.
Bolton seem to want him back given various quotes attributed to their manager Neil Lennon so we’ll just have to see if the clubs can agree a fee.
‘I’ve certainly not had any contact from Bolton but I know for sure that the agent is trying to work something out between the two clubs.’
