Well, if the reports in the Coventry Telegraph are right, then this is where Ben Turner will be sent on a temporary basis as he looked to continue his return to full fitness so he can put his Cardiff injury nightmare behind him.

Turner had six-years with Coventry, after coming through the youth set up to start his career, and could be set for a return to the Sky Blues? However, Barnsley could also be interested.

Turner stepped up his bid to make his return to the Cardiff first-team after 12-months of injury problems, which have limited his involvement for Russell Slade, got an hour under his belt for the Development Squad recently with it hoped he can step up his bid for this with a ‘short-term’ loan away from the Cardiff City Stadium?

Rumours are growing he could end the year at the Ricoh Stadium with a loan move to be announced ahead of the weekend, which could see Tony Mowbray secure the 27-year-old’s services in time for him to potentially play a part in a top of the table meeting with Gillingham this coming weekend.

Further reports, also in the Coventry Telegraph, have actually gone as far as saying Turner himself had requested this loan move with Slade likely to grant this request with it up to the central defender to select if he wants to return to his former club or their League 1 rivals Barnsley….

If a month, or so, away from the Bluebirds will help Turner get himself back up to full fitness this can’t be a bad thing.
