Cardiff City hotshot Ross McCormack has spoken of the new deal in negotiation as Chairman Peter Ridsdale sticks to his word and offered new terms based on an impressive first season for Rosco.

However, the Scotland International also warned that he would be tempted to move on should the reported interest from Premiership clubs intensify:

‘I’m speaking to them just now about putting another two years on my deal which will mean a four-year contract, we’re trying to iron out a few things and we will see what happens.”

‘Everyone in my shoes will be the same, if they get the chance to go to the Premier League, they would snap at it,’

McCormack`s sentiments echo his response on arriving at Ninian Park this season. He was delighted to secure a move to the Championship and was determined to use his chance to springboard to Premiership football. He chose Cardiff City on the basis of our ambition and better prospects of regular first team action. He also added he is not about to rush into anything and is not pressing for a move away:

‘I’m still only 22 so I’ve got a lot of time to move on up the divisions and go to as high a level as I can.’

Cardiff City fans will be hoping to hang onto McCormack who scored 23 goals and looked lively last season. However, any move is likely to fetch upwards of £4m, a fantastic return on the £100k we paid to Motherwell for his services.
