Cardiff City Chairman Peter Ridsdale was among the first to lambast the mindless idiot who threw a coin at referee Mike Dean causing a gash to the official’s forhead and a delay to the game during our 2-2 draw with Swansea City.

The ‘fan’ was promptly arrested and escorted from the ground with Ridsdale, Jones and all civilised Bluebirds fans quick to condemn the actions of a few.

Ridsdale told BBC Sport:

‘Assuming it is the right individual… he will be banned for life from all Cardiff City matches.’

‘It’s a disgrace, it’s unacceptable, it makes you sick because obviously we spend a lot of time at Cardiff City trying to do the right thing.’

‘Today was always going to be a high-profile game, you don’t expect idiots to do that, people like that have no place in football and certainly no place at Cardiff City.’

Its a shame that the coverage following the game has focussed on this incident. It has long been feared that local derbies attract those associated for the club but with little love or respect for the football, or fellow fans. The club will undoubtedly be punished for the incident but have evoked sympathy as this is virtually impossible to prevent.

What we can do is act with swift and harsh measures, the club apologised immediately to Mr Dean and condemned the attack. Hopefully the police can do more.

FAW have told us Sheffield wednesday to reduce your ticket allocation to 3.500 from 7.000 for the final game of the season. I think this act gives cardiff a bad name. This is coming from a person who likes cardiff ive seen ur lot on a few times when i lived in wales. Your a great club and great fans things like this lets cardiff and wales look bad.

    Up the wales
