Cardiff City will face Portsmouth in the FA Cup final next month and Pompey manager Harry Redknapp has joined the droves of footballing brains lavishing praise on City’s young prospect Aaron Ramsey.

Cardiff City fans have been lucky enough to watch Rambo improve this season, and is evident there is plenty more to come. So many clubs are tracking the youngster – including Manchester United – while Harry Redknapp is now on his case ahead of Cardiff meeting Porstmouth at Wembley.

Redknapp told the South Wales Echo:

“As long as the lad keeps his feet on the ground and keeps listening to what he`s being told he has a magnificent future ahead of him.”

“That future will be in the Premiership because, without doubt, he`s got the lot. He`s not just my type of player, he`s any type of manager`s player.”

“He has the potential to be a top player in this country because he`s got quality written all over him.”

“We will be watching him and the rest of his colleagues very closely over the next month, leading up to what should be a great FA Cup final for everyone.”

17 year old Ramsey is likely to attract numerous bids over the summer. Cardiff fans are desperately hoping the club can hold onto such a talented player for at least another season. He has not played a huge part this season, but would surely be able to contribute a great deal if still at the club next year.

No thanks – much rather keep him.

typical premiership attitude there. its not all about making a quick buck to spend on the latest east european or african that may be available

Bluebirdsroo you absolutly and categorically right,,If he he valued a 5mill+ plus now after 10 games. He is got to be worth at least what gareth bale was sold after a full season with southampton..
If we need the money then we should cash in on one of our excess midfielders.or reduce the wage bill by dare i say it not renewing robbie fowlers contract, who has cost us many thousands of pounds per minite of play,,With his injury record of the later yrs,why should we gamble that no further injuries long term
    will occur next season
By the way off topic but related to finacial concerns.peter ridsdale says the court case has depleted the clubs funds by more than 500,000 but did not the judge award all our costs to be pais back by langston and refused them appeal over the costs……
Should we not as supporters have the pleasure of ramsey play for another season as well
Again if he should go then we should sell him,and get him loaned back to us for a season for development…so he does not end up doing a gunter in the spurs reserves as another option

ramsey is alot better than gunter or bale. ramsey has proven that because what ever postion he is asked to play, he does and he does it well. i disagree with andyguy because i think when fowler played he did show something, so i keep fowler but reduce his wage because he wont find another club for that money, cash in on the likes of thomo and JFH, and no i dont see why we should see ramsey at the end of the season and loan him back, because hes 17, if his value is rising this high this fast then wait till hes 19 or 20 he could be offered £20m, who knows, and the good thing about ramsey is, even dave jones said no-one nows what ramseys best postion is, meaning he could be a 20+goal man a season for us, but we wont now until we try and we need time to try

strong rumours are that Fowler took a major wage cut as soon as he was confirmed long-term injured

Good comment re my comment bluebird04..As you say he is a far better player than gunter or bale, and his true position is not known yet as today proves playing up front and being a goal provider..Lets hope management have the vision to see they could possible quadruple his value by holding on to him longer,,Coz i am really fed up with the daily comments from management,Even yesterdaydave jones saying we maybe forced to sell, when there are other players that are saleable and can be replaced..

  • bluebird04 says:

thanks andyguy. i am also sick of peter ridsdale saying we are not a club that is selling, but yet we always seem to relase statements we have to sell. if we have to sell why dont we sell someone we dont really need to use like thomo or hasselbaink, why must we sell our best assests.

Ramsey wont leave for at least an other 1 or 2 seasons then we will sell him for 10 mil like walcot and bale did

  • bluebird04 says:

look, if someone offers money, dave jones will sell him tomorrow, aslong as dave jones reckons he can get cover for him. this £25m loan has been going on for years, so surely we have payed back a decent amount, and i beleive we can get alot more than £10m for rasmey seeing as hes younger than bale and walcott, better than both and has more potiential than both

our harry will calling in for Rambo and Ledley after a we win the FA Cup.
    Play up Pompey

  • bluebird04 says:

well if your gonna win the cup so easy, why is your manager promoting our players more than yours ey
