Cardiff City have already agreed a deal to sign Motherwell’s imposing striker Chris Porter and were widely tipped to wrap up the signing today or tomorrow. However, Porter has not showed up for his scheduled medical in South Wales and has asked for time to consider his move.

Porter is out of contract in the summer, and has interested a number of clubs including this weekend’s opponents Nottingham Forest. The Bluebirds had hoped to secure his signiture by nipping in during the transfer window and were so keen to land their man – Peter Ridsdale sanctioned a £350k deal for the frontman.

However, other clubs have contacted the player’s agent and 25 year old Porter has decided to see if any other offers come in before Monday’s 5pm transfer deadline.

what a great season you folks are having, going to be seeing you in the Prem next season then?

  • smakerzthebluebird says:

we hope so and signing like this wouldn’t hurt that push for promotion lets hope he signs giving us more options which we need to cover injuries to jay and mccormack.

  • bluebirdshroom says:

1 striker and 1 midfielder away from a very good chance at promotion. Just hope key players stay fit

  • smakerzthebluebird says:

yer very true like dj said he hopes to bring in 3 faces to add strength in depth. keeping ledley is also essential to see if we can really push for promotion. if not he can then leave in the summer but maybe for a lesser fee than 8million

  • bluebirdlewis says:

porter wont sign. dj does not like be messed around. commitment

same story………media report it we get gazumped

  • gtsutton says:

.. never heard of him before this present fuss .. if he’s not keen to come to us then he wouldn’t fit into what we’re trying to build .. so, let’s keep looking ..

  • bluebirdshroom says:

understandable he might want to wait until Monday rather than grab first offer. I’d have thought the McCormack factor would have swung it for him, rosco seems to be enjoying himself…

  • bluebirdlewis says:

bet QPR or Brum are in this

  • Bonesy says:

surely qpr or brum dont need any MORE strikers! Keep working on ched evans DJ !!!

  • smakerzthebluebird says:

we’ll see what happens but we must strengthen if we are to stay in play offs as we all know how our seasons have faded from february onwards into mid table obscurity, we deserve so much more

  • Bonesy says:

previous seasons didnt see the likes of McPhail, Capaldi, Whittingham and Scimeca on the bench though! These players used to have nailed on starting spots – not now… but i do worry about Eddie Johnson – be much happier with Thommo!

  • bluebirdlewis says:

anybody else heard chris gunter to burnley on loan – needs 1st team and has fallen down the pecking order since chimbonda went back. any other xfer rumours involving cardiff

  • smakerzthebluebird says:

tommy smith is the rumour i been hearing!
would be a good signing and one assumes a replacement for ledley in centre/ left midfield £1.6 million the fee agreed supposedly

  • smakerzthebluebird says:

my source now tells me that ched evans has signed for cardiff for an undisclosed fee and will be paraded around the ground b4 todays game with nottingham forest!……….sceptical i am but we’ll see!

  • smakerzthebluebird says:

  • bluebirdlewis says:
