Cardiff City fans travelling to East Anglia this weekend will be subject to long delays and an increased police presence.

The move follows trouble at Ipswich’s last game when a number of Leeds United fans invaded the pitch after their relegation was all but confirmed. The club have since apologised for the incident.

The game at Portman Road is the final game of a long campaign for both sides, each of which will finish comfortably in mid-table. There is nothing but pride at stake for each of the teams, but the usual contingent of Cardiff fans will be present.

The away support has been magnificent again this season, and as a gesture the Club have agreed to pay for organised travel to Ipswich for the game. The move should aid Suffolk Police to keep disruption and delays at a minimum.

Although no trouble is expected, Suffolk police will have 200 officers on duty for the game which kicks off on Sunday at 1pm.
