Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has to pick from a threadbare squad for tonight`s away game at Plymouth Argyle with a number of first team regulars unavailable through injury.
Injuries to Kevin McNaughton (ankle), Mark Kennedy (calf) and Paul Quinn (knee) have left City severely depleted at full-back so Tony Capaldi and Adam Matthews are expected to start with Miguel Comminges as cover. Gabor Gyepes is back from his injury and comes into contention though is not expected to start.
The loss of Ross McCormack for 8 weeks means we have no specialist striker cover for Bothroyd and Chopra – Josh Magennis will be the youngster on the bench but has made just one subs appearance to date. McCormack`s absence also opens a space in midfield, sure to be taken by Chris Burke who has impressed but is yet to start a game. He and Joe Ledley are recovered from stomach upsets while Stephen McPhail also looks set to feature after suffering only bruising during a hefty challenge against Blackpool.
Plymouth Argyle will have Alan Gow (calf) and Cilian Sheridan (new signing) available for the game though former Cardiff City loanee Simon Walton has departed for Scunthorpe United.
Right-back David McNamee will face a late fitness test on a shoulder injury while Carl Fletcher (thigh) and central defender Krisztian Timar (ankle) both came through the weekend draw with QPR un-scathed.
