Midfielder Anthony Pilkington has given his thoughts following his brace at the weekend against Rotherham United helping us to a point on the day.
Having put us in front with his first effort, and then got us back to two all after the visitors came back and took the lead, a pleased Pilkington told the Official Site in his own after game interviews that he was obviously pleased with both goals, but he was also pleased with the new role in the side that he’d been given by manager Russell Slade.
‘We knew we could always cause them problems. As we worked on a couple of their videos that we`d watched during the week. Obviously, we are disappointed with the goals that we conceded at home. However, we`re going to have to move on now – we`ve got some good games coming up. We`ll take it game by game and hopefully we can go on a little run.’
With the 27 year old occupying the No 9 role in the last two games – Wolverhampton Wanderers included – he went on to say.
‘It`s a new role and I`m enjoying it. Of course, I enjoy playing football and, as long as I`m on the pitch, I`m happy. The Wolves match is the first time I`ve played that high up the pitch, in the number nine role. You`re going to have to compete against these big centre-halves in the Championship, and you`ve got to do your bit for the team. It`s an entirely different game, playing in that position, and I`ve definitely enjoyed it.’
