Peri-Peri On Menu For Cardiff City

Cardiff City have taken Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard on trial and could offer him a contract if he can prove his quality and fitness. The move was arranged by Tony Pulis who recommended the striker to Dave Jones and spoke highly of the Bluebirds to the player and his agent.

The former Portsmouth man is a powerful attacker and can be a difficult proposition and weigh in with some goals. However, the 26 year old`s career has been blighted by injuries and he has barely played in recent seasons.

Pericard linked up with the Bluebirds on Tuesday and has already been through a full pre-season with the Potters. He was lacking in match time and came on during our friendly against Valencia. He did little to inspire in his appearance though it was he who won the penalty for McCormack to waste.

Pericard was imprisoned in 2007 for several months for perverting the course of justice. At 26, he should still be in his prime and is available on a free transfer. At present we are one striker light with McCormack also hoping to leave – if he can remain injury free, Pericard could be offered a deal and offer competition for Jay Bothroyd`s shirt in attack.
